* MORE FIGHTING WITH THE MATABELE. DEFEAT OF THE MATABELE. [per press association.] Capetown, May 26. — Two hundred and 1 sixty mounted infantry, 150 natives, and two Maxims, have left Buluwayo to clear the country to the north-west. Heavy firing is heard from the town, and it is supposed an engagement is now taking place. Three hundred rebels attacked a party of fifty at Hope mountain, and after two hours' fighting were repulsed. The wires are cut between Buluwayo and Gwelo. Capetown, May 27.— Colonel Plummer has dispersed 1000 Matabeles after two attacks, killing many.
