Forty-five runs were scored in twenty minutes, and then came a collapse, the seventh wicket falling for 80. Lord Hawke and Mounsey made a short stand, which increased the total by 35 runs. Jones, who bowled the whole of the day, was the most dangerous bowler, and Giffoii was also effective. The wicket, kowever, was fiery, and crumbling. 16,512 persona paid for admission yesterday, making the total gate money £1250. Yorkshire has hitherto been playing brilliantly, and has net yet boon beuton by nay other county. A BIG SCORE BY THE CHAMPION May 27. — Playing against Sussex, W. G. Grace carried out his bat for 248 runs.
