WAITARA RACE MEETING.
A meeting was held at the Waitara Hotel on Friday evening for the purpose of holding a race meeting at Waitara. Thore was a large attendance Mr C. # M. Leppcr was voted to the chair.
It was resolved that a registered race meeting be held on Thursday, May 21st. The following programme was drawn up: -Hurdles, £6 ; Maiden, £5 ; Flying, £8; Cup, £15 ; Catch Weights, £5 ; Maori Race, £3 ; Scurry, £3. The following officers were elected :—: — President, Mr S. R. Fairweather ; ViceE residents, Messrs J. D. Wyllie and L. arten ; Stewards, M' ssrs J. Hignett, Falkinson, S. R. Fairweather, H. Gollop, S. W. Nicholls, R. Cunningham, J. D. Wyllie, D. McTaggart, J. Snrlen, T. Elliot, W. McKoy, W. Baker, and G. V. Tate ; Committee, A. Klenner, P. A. Dover, J. Pell, C. McKoy, T. Goodacre, H. Gollop, J. Telfar, J. Thornton, W. Elliott, and J. Hignett ; Judge, Mr J. Hignett ; Starter, Mr R. Cunningham ; Clerk of Course, Mr A. Klenner ; Cle k of Scales, Mr G. V. Tate ; Handicappers, Messrs J. Telfar, R. Cunningham, and W. McKoy ; Secretary, Mr H. Spurd'e. The programme will appear shortly.
