JUNCTION ROAD.
[FHOM OUH OWN COKEESPONDENI .] 3Jr Tarry was unfortunate enough to •experience another accident as he was proceeding along the Avenue Road with nifi coach on Wednesday morning. The axle clips were broken by the concussion caused by the execrable state of the road. Fortunately tho matter was soon discovered, and by travelling at snail's pace, townwasreachedinsafety. Itistrulyhard now that men who have to pay such heavy tolls, wheel taxes, and rates raised by every conceivable means ahonld be put to 89 many inconveniences, and subject to so many dangers owing to the bad state of the roads. This particular piece of road is a scandal to any administration, nothing appearing to hare been done in the matter of repairs for months past. Verily, if the Moa settlers complained of King Logs in the past representatives, they have now had a taste of King Stork s aptitude for gobbling up their hard earned money with little results. Had the rainfall been as heavy during the last, as many previous winters, the roads would have had to have been navigated with mud-flate. The Manporei Dairy Factory is turning out a large quantity of butter and the officials are during their utmost to realise satisfactory results. The Directors' position must be anything but a bed of roses as there is a section of suppliers who eeem determined to hamper their action in every way. Ignorance is the father of suspicion, and when these two factorscombine, troubleanddisasterfollow. It is much to be regretted that individuals do not study out the real practical and technical knowledge requisite for their occupationj Were this done a more just appreciation of others' work would be attained, a moreintelligent criticism exercised, such uncomplimentary, such unmanly remarks as one made against certain Directors wfluld cease. No one ever beautified his face or added to its usefulness by cutting his nose of for spite, neither is it conducive to the success of any association for its members to allow carping criticism to usurp the place «f generous co-operation
