LAND BOARD.
The Land Board met on Monday. Present' : The Commissioner of Crown Lands (chairman), Messrs Heslop, Stock, Roy, and Hon. T. Kelly, The following lands were sold since last meeting:—! 1 . Parfi,tt, sec 15, block 9, Ngatimaru, 230 acres, 0.r.p.; W.F. Barker and W. Ganley, sec 12, block 2, Pouatu, 199 acres, 1. in p.; M. O'Neill, sec 4, block 11, Ngatimaru, 145 acres, 0.r.p. ; J. W. H. and W. C. Green, sec 21, block 9, Ng.itimaru, 314 acres, o.r.p.
S>. Sargeant and F. Standish applied to capitalise unpaid instalments on sec 18, block 7, Huiroa.- Granted. L. aud M Sattler applied to capitalise and paid off on sec 6, block 14, Waitara. — Agreed to.
H. Glentworth applied to acquire freehold of d.p. sec 15, block 9, Ngaire. — Agreed to. — H. Milne applied to acquire freehold of p.l. sees 2 and 3, block 16, Huiroa.— Granted.
W. Quickfall applied to transfer d.p. sec 12, block 12, Egmont, to F. H. Brewn. — Agreed to. The following were allowed to take in partners :— J. C. Boldt to O. Boldt, half interest in section 5, block 8, Huiroa ; W. Ganley to W. F. Barker, half interest in section 5, block 2, Pouatu ; S. and W. G. Lintern, one-third interest in sec 14, block 16, Ngatimaru
A consent to a second mortgage was agreed to.
Tho Ranger recommended that the unimproved value of forfeited sec 21, block 2, Ngatimaru, be fixed at 17s Gd, and reported improvements to the valuo of £12 on tho laud. Price adopted.
W. Seed applied to surrender sec 4, block 15, Upper Waitara T««ner S. S. Accepted. A. M. Howitt made a similar application in respect of 1. in p. sec 19, block 9, Ngatimaru. Accepted.
D. Teed applied to be allowed to purchase a portion of tho closed Holdeworthy Road adjoining part sco 24, Grey district, bought by him. The application could not be granted at present, as tho Board could not give a titlo owing to defective survey.
J. Miller, the lessee of sec 1, block 16, Ngirie, applied to purchase part sec. 4, block 16, Ngaire (left by a deviation of the Makino Road, and comprising about 3J a«res). The Ranger's report on the matter was read. The application was granted on the adoption of the report. The Stratford Town Board submitted proposals for the expenditure of £14 13s 9d of thirds accrued to September 30th last. Agreed to. The Moa Road Board submitted proposals for expenditure of £632 5s 2d of accrued thirds. A letter was read from A. E. Surrey objecting to £10 from sees 2 and 3, block 8, Egmont, being devoted as proposed by the Road Board to approaches for a bridge opposite sec 2, which had been promised gratis by khe settlers beyond. Mr McMahou attended Board with a petition objecting to the proposals of the Road Board for the expenditure of the thirds from Mr Hopson's sections, and M. Hopson also attended. The Ranger was instructed to inspect the ground and report on the matter at meeting, aud that consideration of the Road Board's proposals be deferred accordingly. The Wai mate Road Board requested approval to an amendment ot transfer of funds from Lower Glenn Road by transferring £103 17s 6d iustead of £126 2s 5d to the Upper Gleun Road as submitted in the proposal of October 16th, 1895, tho difference £22 4s lid, to be transferred to the Lower Normanby Road at tho request of the selector, U. B. Curtis, the thirds having accrued from his sections 40 and 41, block 6, Waimate. Agreed to. The Waimate Road Board submitted proposals for tho expenditure of £442 10s 6d, accrued thirds up to September 30th, 1895. The objection of D. M. Holmes to his thirds from sec 16, block 14, Opunako, being used as interest on the Watino Road loan was also considered. Expenditure agreed to as recommended by Ranger, thirds from sec 16 to be omitted from securitj for Watino Road loan.
A list of selectors ia arrons with their rents was held over to the next meeting On December 16.
Schedules of areas and prices of eleven small runs, Rawhitiroa Block, comprising 35,000 aens, were laid on tho table. The unimproved capital valuo was fixed at 5s per acre.
The report of the Ranger on the application of R. O. Hendy for exemption from residence on d.p. sec 25, block 10, Ngairo, and the issuo of the freehold titlo was read. It was decided that in couscquonoe of Mr Houdy having failed to comply with the conditions of residence aud the conditions of improvements, the applications bo refused. The Board adjourned.
