OBITUARY.
DEATH OF MISS EMILY FAITHFULL. London, June 5. — Miss Emily Faithfull, the well-known advocate of tho amelioration of the condition of women, has just died, at the ago of 60. Miss Faithfull was tho daughter of a Surrey clergyman, and devoted herself to the extension of the remunerative spheres of labour for women. In 18G0 she founded a typographical establishment for women in London, and in 18G3 started a monthly publication called tho Victoria Magazine, in which for 18 years the claims of women to remunerative employment were earnestly set forth. Her novel "Chango upon Change '" ran into a second edition within a month. Soon after this Miss Faithfull mado hor debut as a lecturer, and she since frequently lectured in leading literary and philosophical institutions ot England. She contributed copiously to the Ladij'n Pictorial, and articles on tho subjects bho mado specially hor own havo been frequently found in leading journals and magazines. Miss Faithfull's work received tho recognition of Her Majosty
