ALLEGED SHEEP STEALING.
Tho hearing of tho charges against Frederick Fohrmann, Rudolph Lukushoski, and Frank Lukushoski, was commenced at the Hawera Courthouse on Wednesday afternoon. Tho first case was aguinst Frederick Fohrmann and Rudolph Lukushoski, who were oharged with stealing 250 Bheep, the property of J. G. Wilson, of Bulls. Mr Barton for prosecution ; Mr Wiseman (instructed by Mr Samuel) for accused. Mr Barton outlined tho case for the prosecution, and called a number of witnesses. After hearing the evidence, the accused, who reserved their defence, were committed to tako their trial at the noxfc ! -sittings of tho Supremo Court at New Plymouth on October 2nd. Mr Wiseman applied for bail. Mr Barton said he was instructed to press for substantial bail if it were allowed. The bench fixed the bail at one surety of £300 aud two sureties of £150 each.
