The Cahinet has decided not to make any recommendation to the Governor in the cases of the Bank prisoners, Abigail and Macaamara. With regard to Low and Hadfield, they have forwarded certain recommendations to the Governor, which have not at present been made pnblic. Advice ha 3 been received that the German warabip, Moewe, reported last week to be considerably overdue from Zanzibar, is still on the East African station. The Judge, in summing np on the Grasmere riot cases, said he was often surprised that free laborers did not arm themselves to resist the outrages. Without encouraging the use of firearm?, h? considered the men would be justified in using weapons if they had a reasonable idea their lives were endangered. If free men organised and armed themselves, there would be fewer cowardly outrages perpetrated. The prisoners were convicted and sentence deferred.
