Two Wellington newspapers, the Evening Press and Weekly Herald, are likely to cease publication shortly. Judge of N.S.W. Supreme Court said he was surprised the free labourers did not arm themselves to resist outrages. Rich gold discovery has been made in Newstead district, Victoria. Delaney, who has been wanted in Wellington for some time , past, has been ar^estod at Tologa Bay. Czar, it is reported, is gradually sinking. Chilian Government has declined the offer nf tho Chinese to buy six warships. Chinese repulsed a night attack on the north bank of Yalu river. Ten thousand Socialists surrounded Parliament House in Vienna, and a free fight took place with the police. Republican leaders of United States are about to abandon Protection. Lord Drumlanrig, eldest ' son of the Marquis oi'Queensberry, was accidentally killed by a discharge of his own gun. Dairy Industry Bill has been assented to b}' the 1 Go\ ernor. Lord Glasgow and family will spend a mouth in AVanganui during the summer. Joll Brothors' supply of milk to their Okaiawa factory now totals 1300 gallons a d.iy. Mr C. G.
