The Home team with eight wickets down for 234 runs declared their innings closed. Giffon took five wickets for 43 ; Turner two for 64 ; Bruce ono for 34 The Australians, in their second innings require 300 runs to save a defeat. AUSTRALIANS V. SOMERSETSHIRE. London, July 23. — Play in the Somersetshire match was resumed yesterday. Tho Australians being got rid of for 107. Bunnerman scored 21, and Giffen 36. Woods took 6 wickets for 26, and Nichols 2 for 22. Somersetshire in their second inuings made only 04, Fowler, boing top score with 17, Turner secured seven wickets for 26 runs, and Tumble two for 24. The Australians in their seoond innings knocked up 78 for the Ichs of four wicketn, and thus won the match by six wickets nnd two runs, Turner was almost unplayable on sticky wicket. Tho fielding of the visitors was brilliant throughout.
