MISSING MAN POINTON.
TURNS UP AT STRATFORD. The man William Ward Pointon, who is reported to be an ex-lieutenant in th« navy, has turned up at Stratford. It will be remembered that he left the Hawora Boarding House in Devonstreet on the morning of Ma-r 18, and never returned, leaving all his belongings behind. Mr Stanley reported the matter to tho police, who thought that the man might havo met « ith an accident while rambling about. This (Monday) morning Mr Stanley received a 1 letter from Pointon, who Btated lhat he was writing from Stratford. He was sorry for all the trouble that he had occasioned, but he had met with an accident that had laid him up. He concluded the letter by stating he intended to go on to Wanganui, and asking Mr Stanley to forward all his things to that town.
