This (Friday) afternoon Sergeant Duffin and Constables Redican and Lister drove out in the direction of Waitara, and it was reported in town tint they had gone out to effect an arrest in connection with the " Bticking-up" outrages. Sorgt. Durtin and his party returned to town about 3 o'clock, when it was learned that no anest had been made, the police having been out to niako a few enquiries.

The display of meat in Messrs Sole Bros, shop i >st week attracted so much attention, that the firm decided to have s permanent remembrance of it, and with this view arranged with Mr C. B. Shaw photographer, who haa since produced some excellent copies ; one of which is now on view at Messrs Solo Bros.' Taranaki Butcher}'.
