PROPOSED EXHIBITION IN AUCKLAND.
Auckland, August 20
At the meeting of the Auckland Exhibition Committee, the Chairman stated that from what ho could gather the citizens generally wore not verjr anxious to have an exhibition. Mr A. E. Devore stated ho had boon promised support. It was a groat drawback that there \ras not unanimous support of the prospect generally. He was of opinion that there would be a groat difficulty in raising a £10,000 guarantee fund. Tho meeting was adjourned to give the Chairman and Mr Dovore an op- | portunity of making further enquiries.
