NOVEL BANKRUPTCIES.
Mr Oliver Bryant Waymodth made a sworn statement before the Official As signee, Auckland, to the following effect : — " lam a public accountant, and have been in pirtnership with my father for the last five years. With the exception of a few small household accounts, I only had one creditor to whom it was alleged I owed £40 odd, who, on account of his not agreeing to my terms of payment, sued and obtained a judgment summons. Being unable to meet this, I had no alternative but filing. A few hours after I filed 1 received a letter from the creditor foregoing tho amount of debt and enclosing a full discharge. I have since been round to tho small creditors referred to and paid them off. Therefore, I am now in the position of being entholy out of debt." At Napier on December 2, there was an unusual termination to a bankruptcy meeting. The victim to circumstances was a Mr B. Thompson, who for 12 years had been headmaster of Napier District School. He was somewhat roughly handled by various creditors, but after ho had calmly Btood all the " hackling," -ft was announced that ho hai received a draft from relatives at Homo which would enable him to pay 20s in the pound.
