An International Conference will probably be convened at Chicago to arrange terms of labour. BELI3IOUB DISTURBANCE IN ROME. Rome, October 5. Public protests were made at Leghorn, Florence, and Bolonga against tho insult to Victor Eruinannel by tho French pilgrims. Disorderly crowds paraded the streets, hooting the pilgrims, and yelling " Down with the Pope and French Catholics !" The pilgrims arrested for the outrage in the Pantheon have becH expelled from tho country. Similar displays against tho Pope are being made in the provinces. , The Pope has notified his regret to the French Government at the behavious of the pilgrims which led to the scene in the Pantheon. The bishops have issued a circular discouarging a pilgrimage to Rome. The crowd invaded the Pantheon and made violent speeches against tho Pope. His Holiness was much distressed at this outburst of popular indignation.
