Half-yearly balance-sheet of tho Colonial Bank to 31st August last is promptly to hand. Result of business id satisfactory. The usual dividend of 7 per cent, is recommended, and in all probability will bo adopted at a meeting of Bhareholdere on the 30th instant, leaving a balance of £2672, profit of half-year, to carry forward — total amount carried forward is £7230 3s 8(1. Reserve fund stands at £5r',000.5 r ',ooo. Business, and likewise profits, have increased. Shares are quoted with buyers at 42b (cum div). National Banks are dull of sale, buyers offering 7b 6d, sellers asking 9b. Land Mortgage are without change— sales, 8s; sellers, 8s 6d, buyers, 7s Gd. Other stocks remain at previous quotations.
