THE EGMONT FARMERS' UNION (Limited) REPORT.
On Wednesday, the 9th inst., we held our unual sale in the Glover Road ya.rds. The entry of cattle was large, not quite, so many coming forward as were advertised, though several lines of sheep whose entry did not appear in the daily paper cave forward for sale. The attendance was smaller than we have had for some time past, and the bidding was not quite; so spirited for store cattle, though very brisk for fat Block. Several lines of stores left the yards unsold, owing to the very high reserves placed upon them. We quote prices as under: Fat bullocks (light weight) £5 7s 6d to £fy 10s, 2£ to 3-year-old steers £4 6s to £4 14s Id, 18-months steers £2 2a 6d to £3 7s, calves and yearling steers £1 17 a6dto £2 2s, fat cows and heifers £3 18s to £4 15s, cows in calf £3 14a 5d to £4 17b 6d, yearling and 18-monthß-old heifers £1 13s to £2 16s. Sheep : Ewes 4-tooth empty 10s 6d, hoggets shorn 9s Id. Pigs 7b 6d to 12s.
