AIR. NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY AUCTION AND PRODUCE REPORT. At the Haymarket, on Saturday, pigs were in good demand, slips making 4s to 6s 6d, larger sizes 7s 6d to 9s Cd. Hacks made £2 12s 6d to £4 12s 6d.

At the mart, fowls made Is to Is 6d, ducks Is Bd, potatoos Is 9d to 2s 6d, barley 2s 9d, wheat 3a Gd, tea 13s, su^ar 3d, cheese 4£d, bacon 3d to 4d. Sundries and furniture made fair prices.

Fruit has been fairly plentiful during the week, except oranges, there being none of the latter procurable until the arrival of the s.s. Richmond from the Islands, expected in a day or two. This week's prices are as follows :— Hobar.t apples — Crabs 11s, Stunners 12s 6d; bananas 2£d to 3d, cocoanuts 6s 6d per sack.

Cattle. — The Stratford yards were full on Tuesday; bidding was keen, and nearly everything sold at the hammer. A few pens were penned, but were eagerly snapped up during the sale. A great many cows and heifers were yarded, and found a ready sale ; yearlings 29s to 455, 18inontha mixed to 535, 18-months steers £2 10s to £2 17a 6d, 2-years to 2£ steers from £3 12s to £3 19s, 2-year old heifers to £3 10s, dairy cows from £4 to £6 2s ,6d. store cows £3 10s to £4 2s, bulls £2 5s to £4 15s. springing heifers £3 7s 6d to £4 15s. — At the Waiwakaiho yards there were comparatively few entries, but the yards were crammed, female stock predominating, and bidding was very keen throughout the sale. Young cattle were at about last rates. Store heifers and cows advanced considerably. Steera were a shade easier. Fat cattle, in great demand, advanced 5s to 10s per head. Weedy calves made 17s, ordinary 25s to 40s, yearlings 37s 6d to 48d, 18- months mixed £2 6s fid to £2 18a, 2-ycnr-old heifers £3 5s to £3 15s, young store cows in calf £5 15s to £4 ss, old store cows £2 173 6d to £3 ss, spwnging cows £4 to £5 15s, 3-year-old bullocks £4 10s, fat bullocks J£s 10s to £6 10s, empty store cowa £3 5s to £3 12a, fat cows £4 83 to 14 17s 6d, hoggets 10s 2d, ewes 15s 6d, springing heifers £4 to £5 2s 6d.— rMy spring cattle fair will be held at Waiwakaiho on Thurnday, September 24th. Land. — This week I have to report tho sale of 1500 acres in the Pohukura Block, BOfHe 30 miles in from Stratford, on account of Jna. Aitkcn, Esq., to R. W, Yorke, Esq. Price has not transpired. Another large section in this block changed bands privately this week. I have another section adjoining the one just sold, which I can offer on most favorable terms.
