INGLEWOOD.
[from our own correspondent.] May 18. — A meeting 1 was held in tbo Inglewood Town Hall on Saturday for the purpose of starting an Athletic Club. Mr H. W. Marsh was voted to the chair, Mr R. Stevens gave a report of sub-committee, when it was proposed by Mr Stevens, and seconded by Mr Langly, "That an Athletic Association be started to combine athletics, cricket, and football, and afterward?, if the f undß admit, a gymnasium." Corried. It was proposed by Mr Marsh, and seconded byMrW. D. Thomson, "That the committee be formed as under : — Messrs Davies Stevens, Hignett, Bishop, T. Tyer, Toohey, Todd, and Tl-omson, with power to add to their number, to draw up a scheme to submit to a general meeting to be held this day fortnight." Carried. At the cose of the meeting Mr H. W. Marsh pres meed Mr Hammond with the Club's gold medal, for having won the greatest number of events at the last Inglewood sports. i
