■ Mr W. P. Cleave, of Hiiirangi, brought news into town this afternoon that his house, a thirteen roomed one, was destroyed by fire between two and three o'clock this morning. The fire appears to have started in a small room off the verandah used as a saddle and store-room. Tho family had j is*t time to leave <jhe building, very little cf the furniture being Bavod. Insurances are: on the building £250, and on the furniture and effects £110, both in the Standard Insurance Co/s office. Foxterrier dog: J. J. Collis' Rep, Ist prize ; J. Page's Nip, commended. Cattle dogs : Gus. Solo's Shep, Ist prize. Any other dog of distinct breed, considered by judges worthy of- a prize : J. J. Collis' Newfoundland, Nell, Ist prize.
