JUBILEE EXHIBITION COMMITTEE.

A meeting of tho Jubilee Exhibition Committee was held in the Council Chambers on Saturday night. Present: Messrs H. Goodacre (chairman), Snowball, Kyngdon, King, Davidson, Murray, Brooking, and Mofflin (secretary). Electric Lighting. — A letter from the Giilcher Electric Lighting. Co., of Wellington, was read, giving certain particulars as to lighting the Exhibition,' and stating that their representative , would be in New Plymouth at the end of February. Certificates.— The Secretary reported that the Printing Committee had met, and that sketches for certificates and instructions had been forwardod to Mr Bock, of Wellington, with a request that he would send in a design and estimate for 200 certificates of merit. _ . , Agricultural Programme. — The agricultural p 'Ogramme for the Exhibition was read, discussed, and finally adopted, the charge for er ry being fixed at 10 per cent., with a niinitnjm of Gd. Working Daiuy. — Mr Snowball reported that Messrs Wilkins & Field, of Wellington, would consider the matter of providing appliances for a working dairy in connection with the Exhibition. Mr Corkill kindly offered tho use of paddocks, and Mr George the use of a separator. — It was decided that the Secretary should write to the Minister of Lands asking him that Mr Sawers, the dairy expert, should be allowed to attend tho Exhibition and conduct the working of tha dairy, and act as a judge in the Dairy Department. — It was also decided to write to Mr Sawers asking how many cows would bo required for the dairy, and to Mossis Mason, Struthere, & Co., of Christchurch, relative to exhibiting dairy appliances. Advertising. — A d'scussion was hold on the question of advertising in tho principal centres of the colony, and the matter' was finally loft in the hands of tho Advertising Committee. Valuable Exhibits. — Messrs Murray and Snowball were appointed a Committee to report on the question of safes and glass cases for valuable exhibits. Judges. — The question o£ appointing judges for each department in the Exhibition was reserved till oext meeting* Cartage. — It was decided to call for tenders for the cartage of exhibits. This wag all the business, and the Committee adjourned till Saturday next.
