|PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION.] ? WaSganjji, January 2—A fire last night in Victoria Avenue gutted the premises of Beck, a bootmaker, and a six-roomed detacked cottage. The family of six attended the Matarawa apoi cs, - and left some wet clothes' drying before the. kitchen fire. They attended the theatre in the eveniDg a heavy gale was blowing, and it is supposed that the draught ignited the clothes and set fire to the chimney. Insurance* partially cover loss. The furniture was insured for £150 in the Victoria, and the building for £50 in the Standard and £150 in the Equitable.
