Eighteen hundred Indian braves attacked Pine Ridge to-day, and by their atrocities have place I that country and its vicinity in a state of terror. One regiment of cavalry had a narrow escape from destruction, being very nearly entrapped by the Indians. The latter continue their depredations, and have burnt the Catholic mission. It is expected that war will be declared against the Indians, and that their extermination will result.
