TARANAKI COUNTY COUNCIL.
The Taranaki County Council met on Wednesday. Present: Messrs Price (chairman), W. Bayly, T. Bayly, Strauchan, Kyngdon, Gibbons, Lepper, Olson, and Adlara.
Special Meeting. — Before the ordinary meeting a special meeting took place for the purpose of adopting a resolution notifying that a portion of the Rimutauteka Block had been merged into the Moa Eoad District.
Hospital Board Representation. —Mr Kyngdon gave notice that he would move that the resolution appointing representatives to the Hospital und Charitable Aid Board be rescinded, in order that each riding might be represented. Slaughter License. — G. W. Gane applied for a slaughter license on sec 8, block 5, Opnnake. — Granted. luglsioood.—A. letter was received from Inglewood Town Board requesting the overseer to furnish the Board with the quantity of gravel taken from their pit by a county contractor. — Agreed to.
Tolls. — Mr Jones, coach proprietor, waited ou the Council asking if tho amount of tolls .chargeable on his coach could not be reduced. — The Council declined to entertain the application. *
Tenders. —It was decided to invite tenders for the right to collect tolls at the several gateß.
Finance Committee. —It was decided that the four new members be a Finance Committee to report at the February meeting. Dog Tux. — It was agreed that the dog tax should be 2s 6d for cattle dogs, and 5s for others. The Clerk was was appointed registrar with power to appoint deputies in the various local bodies, the amount collected to be banded over to the latter bodies.
Advertising and < Printing. — It was decided to call for tenders for advertising and printing as usual, and a committee was, appointed to specify the preci c form of advertisement necessary. Notice. — Mr LErrER gave notice of motion, " That tollgates be erected in the Waitara West District."
TruvelUng Allowance.— lt was decided to pay members' travelling allowance, as formerly.
Ccm.nittee. — The Chairman, Messrs W. Bayly, Lepper, and Kyngdon wore appointed a Committee ito open and accept tenders for tollgatos.
Accounts. — Accounts amounting to £219 108 7d were passed for payment, leaving the overdraft at £1659 10s 9d. The Council rose.
