J.FBOM OUR OWN COBBEBPONDRNT.J TOWN BOARD. The Inglewood Town Board held a meeting in the Board's office on Monday. Present: Messrs J. C. Peach (chairman), T. Drake, jun., G. S. Kennedy, W. H. Franklyn, and H. W. Marsh. The following outward correspondence was read : To the Chairman, Taranaki County Council; Mr F. Lever; Mr T. McCarthy; Mr Marchant, M.H.R.; Mr C. Rennell, New Plymouth ; Mr Buxton, Manager of Railway, Wanganui; Inspector Pardy. Inward correspondence was read : From the Mayor of New Plymouth ; Mr Marchant, M.H.R. — The collector's statement for the year 1890 was read, showing the amount collected to be £25 6s 3d.— The Clerk informed the Board that the amount now standing to the credit of the Inglewood Town Board was £190 8s 6d. A letter was read from Mr Gillmour, of Inglewood, respecting the purchase of two sections in Outfield -street. The matter was left for the new Board, so that they may call for tenders. — There was only one tender received for channelling' and kerbing, that of Haslet and Thomas. It was proposed by Mr Marsh, and seconded by Mr Franklyn that the tender of Haslet and Thomas, be accepted. Carried. — Mr G. S. Kennedy's application to carry the water from the roof of his shop to the water table was granted. — The same to Mr Franklyn and Mr Stevenß. — It was decided that Todd and Brough, contractors, should be asked to pay a royalty on' the gravel taken from the Board's pit, and Mr Brough also to- be informed that he is not .to take it outside ' the Moa District ; also that the Board object to have the gravel taken from the pit to Stratford. The Public Works Committee reported that they had let the draining on part of the Wortley Road and Recreation Grounds to Grantly Brothers, and another small job at 6s per diem. — In accordance with Mr Marsh's notice of motion, a rate o£ Jd in the £ was proposed for 1890-91, and carried unanimously. The sum of £3 18s 5d was passed for payment. This concluded the business. September 10.— The following gentlemeen have been nominated for the Inglewood Town 'Board, the election for which will take place on Wednesday next: — J. C. Peach, H. W. Marsh, Arthur Lamb, G. S. Kennedy, W. 11. Franklyn, Thomas Drake, jun., Ralph Collins.
