MR. NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY AUCTION AND PRODUCE REPORT.

At the Haymarket, on Saturday last, only a few pigs came forward, slips making 2s to ss, small stores 6s to 9s. Several hacks were sold at prices ranging from £1 to £3 2s 6d. At the mart fowls made 8d to Is, ducks Is 2d to Is sd, turkeys 2s to 2s 3d, potatoes Is 9d to 3s jjer lb, onions Jd to l|d, flour 17s to 18s per lb, bacon (inferior) 2J, prime do sd, hams 3d to 7d, sugar 2£d to 3jd. Sundries and furniture made fair rates.

Cattle — At Inglewood on Tuesday there was a smaller muster than usual. There were few buyers, and bidding was dull throughout. The loss of grass by the recent fires and the approach of winter being, no doubt, accountable, for the limited demand. Calves made 4s 6d to 7s, good yearlings 15s 6d, 15 to 18-months heifers 15s. — At Omata, on Wednesday, birlding was dull throughout, and all .young cattle were passed in. Fat cows made £3 to £3 ss, springing do £4 4s, 1 bull 10s. — At Waiwakaiho, on Thursday, the yards were unusually full of young cattle, no big steers, and few dairy cattle coming forward. Calves were very dull, especially for anything small ; yearlings to 18months were in better demand, calves (small) 2s 6d to 3s 6d, ordinary 6s to 8s 6d, yearlings 10s to 18s, 15 to 18-months steers 22s to 245, luifers 17s, empty heifers £2 to £2 10s, fat cows £2 12s 6d to £2 18s 6d; some fine lambs made 8s 6d.

Mr F. J. Jones' clearing sale of household furniture on Thursday was well attended, and fair prices were realised throughout.
