Sydney, March 30. Eight persons were travelling on a trolly near Wailsend mine, when it cam« into collision with a truck coming in the opposite direction, when a man named Tucker and two women named Davis and Taylor were killed. Several others were seriously injured. The Intercolonial Wharf Labourers Conference has adopted the eight hours system, but it is left to the various colonies to decide the hours of commencing work and that of knocking off. The question of a uniform rate of wages is postponed until the next Conference.
