The bootmakers in East London are out, demanding work in the factories instead of home work. LIVERPOOL DOCK STRIKE OVER. C.mstans, Minister of Foreign Affairs, has given notice to tho State employee*: prohibiting them from taking part in the national demonstration on May Ist in favour of eight hours of labour. Now Count Herbert Bismarck has resigned the German Press bitterly assail him as the author of the German deplomatic defeat on the Samoan question, and regard the recent convention as a blow to the German prestige in the Pacific.
