AUSTRALIAN TELEGRAMS.

Sydney, March 12.

The railway lines are blocked in various directions, and the towns of Kerupsey and Smithtown are under water. The latter town is covered with water to the extent of twelve feet, and boats and the river steamer are rescuing the people. Three hundred persons took refuge on a dredger. Lower Macleay and all the townships along the Richmond river are flooded. Grafton is under water, and the river is still rising. There are no fatalities.
