VICKERS AND STEVENS' WEEKLY REPORT.
Messrs. Vickers & Stevens held their fortnightly cattle sale at Stratford on Monday, December 23. Very few cattle were yarded. The following prices were obtained : Calves 6s 6d, cows from 20s to 355, unbroken hacks, in low condition, from 22s 6d to 42s 6d. On Tuesday they held their usual cattle sale in the Inglewood yards, which were well filled, and, although prices showed a decline of fully 2s per head in young stock, every line was sold at prices as under : Small calves 5s 6d to 10s 6d, yearlings 15s to 21s, 15 months steers 21s to 245, cows and heifers springing 27s to £3 7s 6d, 3-years-old steers £2 7s 6d. On Saturday at their Auction Rooms they sold at rates as under : Old potatoes from Is 6d to 2s 6d per sack, new potatoes to Id per lb, bran and sharps 7s per sack, tea 14s 6d per box. They also disposed of a quantity ot drapery and sundries.
