MR. NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY AUCTION AND PRODUCE REPORT. At the Haymarket, on Saturday, pigs made lower rates than for some weeks past. Prices for slips ranged from 3s to Bs, small stores 13s. A number of hacks I were sold at from £1 10s to £3 15s. At the mart poultry made good prices. Fowls Is to Is 3d, ducks Is 6d to Is lid, geese 2s to 3s, turkeys 2s 8d to 3s lOd, new potatoes to Id, bacon 4Ad, hams 4£d to 6^d. The sale of Mr M. "Cunningham's saddlery stock attracted a large audience, bidding from start to finish being very brisk, and prices on the whole satisfactory. At the sale of Japanese curios on Tuesday, there was only a moderate attendance, bidding being dull and bargains numerous. Fruit. — During the week cherries made 8s 6d to 9s, plums 8s to 8s 6d, currants 7s 6d, oranges 10s, inferior quality 5s 6d to 6s 6d, pineapples 9s. Cattle. — At Waitara on Tuesday there was a better muster than usual, and with the exception of a pen of small calves everything sold at fair prices. Calves made 7s to 13a, 12 to 15 month steers £1, 18 to 2 year steers £1 10s, heifers £1 10s to £2. - At the Waiwakaiho sale, on Friday, I had a fair muster of cattle, principally young stock. Small calves were dull of sale, but yearlings were in demand, also good heifers near calving; other sorts were neglected. Small calves made 4s to 6s, calves and yearlings 9s to 15s, 18-months-olds 20s to 235, 2-year steers 28s to 325, springing heifers £2 15s, empty cows in fresli condition 355. Produce. — There is nothing fresh to report. The s.s. Wanaka leaves to-day with nearly 2000 kegs for London.
