STOCK AND SHAREMARKET.

There is not much doing in the sharemarket. The revelations made at the last meeting of shareholders of the Bank of New Zealand has had a very depressing effoct on nearly all stocks, more particularly on Bank of New Zealand shares, which have not yet recovered from the blow, and do not show any disposition to do so, although telegrams from London advise the sale of a parcel of shares at a considerable advance on previous quotations without giving a reason for the rise. I have sellers of Land Mortgage shares at 17s, New Plymouth Gas at 935; and buyers of Loan and Mercantile at 68s, sellers asking 695. New Plymouth, November 22, 1889.
