VICKERS AND STEVENS' WEEKLY REPORT.
Messhs. Viokers & Stuvens report that they held their opening sale in the Stratford saleyard on Monday, 18th November. Owing to the dry weather several lines entered for sale were not yarded. About 100 head wero offered and every lot, with the exception of 5 cows, were wold at prices as under, viz :—2£-ycar-old steers, 42s 6d ; 2 year steers, 35s ; cows iin«l heifers, springing, from £1 15 a to £2 14s ; calves and yearlings, 15s to 19h ; 15 month steers, 21s to 2'2e. The horses submitted failed to lind purchasers. On .Saturday last at their auction rooms the attendance wan small. Tho following were prices obtained : Bran, 7s per sack of IGOlb; sharps. 7s per sack ; potatoes, 7h to 7h 6d per sack ; oats, '6a 3d por bushel ; cheese, 5d ; furniture and sunariep at fair rates.
On Wednesday they held a clearing sale of dairy stock on account of Mr Robert Stanley, at which highly satisfactory prices were obtained, the cows in milk making an average of £5 ss. Prices were as under : Cows and heifers in calf from £2 5s to £4 ; cows in milk from £4 to £5 17s 6d — one exceptionally grand cow making £8 I2s 6d.
