ANOTHER SUDDWN DEATH I s ! WELLINGTON. Wellington, June 27. Mr. G. R. George, the manager of the Gas Works, died suddenly of heart disease late last night. He had been about the town as nsual during the day. He was only 48 years oi age, and oame out to the colony about 35 years ago as engineer for Kincaid Bros., who built an extension to the Queen's Whavf. He constructed the patent slip, and upon the formation of the Gas Company took the post of manager, which he has held ever since. He has occupied prominent positions in the Chamber of Commerce, Harbor roard, and other local bodies. OAPTAIN HORNE'S APPOINTMENT. Captain Home, Sergeant-at-Arms, has received an appointment as gaoler at Trial Bay, New South Wales, 800 miles north of Sydney. He leaves direct on Saturday.
