The market rate of discount has fallen to 8 per cent., and is now 1 per cent, below bank rate. BREADSTUPPS AND IBON. Breadstuffs still maintain last values. Pig-iron, f.o.b. in the Clyde, I is quoted at 41s per ton. AGRARIAN OUTRAGE. - London, November 8. A terrible outrage is reported from County Kerry. A party of Moonlighters called upon a farmer named Kirby, residing near Tralee, and shot him dead in the presence of his family. POSTAL SUBSIDY. Arrangements have been contracted between the Treasury and the Australian colonies, .^whereby England pays £95,000.^8 a. proportion of the postal subsidy^ th(Toolonies contributing £75,000. O'Brien, on the recommendation oi the medical officer, has been removed to the prison infirmary. CROWN PRINCE'S ILLNESS. Bxblin, November 7. It is officially announced that several leading physicians will proceed to San Remo to hold a consultation as to the best course to pursue in treating the Crown Prince of Germany. DR. MACKENZIE'S OPINION OF THE CROWS Pf.ISOB.'- . Berlin, November 8. An official announcement was made to-day that Dr. Morrell Mackenzie had arrived at San-Remo and examined His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. Dr. Mackenzie pronounces the general health of the Crown Prince as excellent, and states that the throat symptoms do not point to any immediate danger. He advises that M. Viennese, of Berlin, a throat specialist, be summoned to consult with him as to the treatment to be adopted. CZAR GOES TO BERLIN. Copenhagen, November 8. The Czar leaves for Berlin on November 12. ANTWERP WOOL BALES. Antwerp, November 7. The Antwerp wool sales opened today. A good business was done in Australian wools, bnt prices ruled from 10 to 15 per cent, below those at the last sales. AFFAIRS IN,ZULu£aND. Durban, November 7. The reported skirmish between the British troops and Denizulu's followers is authoritatively denied. It is expected that a settlement of the difficulty in Zululand will be effected without recourse to hostilities. IONIO AT 810. Rio de Janeiro, November 7. The lonio arrived here this morning. The frozen meat cargo is in good condition. AUSTRALIAN' TELEGRAMS. Melbourne, November 8. The disputes between the Shearers' Union and the pquatters continue in the Western Distriot. A body of Unionists foroibly removed eight shearers from the sheds on the station near Warnambool.' Sydney, November 9. The rain which set in yesterday still continues, and considerably marred the holiday arrangements. The Roman Catholics of New South Wales intend to hold a speoial celebration of the centenary of the colony, and invitations have been issued to all the prelates of that denomination in the various colonies.
