It is a splendid instrument, and she must pet it— keep it from dampness, sunshine, and fireplace — alwayß in a dry pluco ; and now / must ask you one favour : Maribel must accept this violin from mo ac a pvesini. The train from Wanganui on Wednesday afternoon brought several membera of the House on a short visit to New Plymouth. Messrs. Anderson, Fish, Feldwiok, Tanner, and Jones, who wore accompanied by Mr. Cohen, of the Dnnedin Star, and Mr. Morrison, o£ the Hawke's Bay Herald, on arrival went at once to the breakwater, with a view of inspecting it, and were shown over tbo works by tho Resident Engineer. Most of the party left again by this morning's train, it being their intention to reach Palmerston to-night, and on to Napier to-morrow. On Thursday morning Mr. Samuel and Mr. T. King took Mr. Soobie McKenzie (Mount Ida), Mr. Tanne . (Waipawa), and Mr. Jones (Heathcotc), te the breakwater in order to allow them to inspect it. The members were shown over the works by Mr. Rhiud, the engineer, who pointed out- nil details to them. It is the intention of the members now in town to return to Wellington by Friday morning's train.
