SHIPWRECK— LOBS OF LIFE. MeiißOUßne, October 20. It is reported here that the steamer Cheviot, belonging to Messrs. Howard Smith & Sons, which sailed from this port yesterday afternoon for Sydney and Brisbane, was wrecked near Port Nepean, and 80 to 40 supposed to be drowned. Sydney, October 20. The Government have resolved, with the approval of their supporters, to press forward the remaining Parliamentary business, in order to enable them to close the session on the 23rd January next.
