A Press Association telegram states that Major-General Sir Geo. Whituiore has intimated to the Governor his willingness to continue without salary his present position of officer commanding the New Zealand forces. Sir George, it is understood, is seeking legal advice whether, if his offer is accepted, he will be in a position to resume his seat as a member of the Legislative Counoil. SIR JOHN HALL GOES TO SIDNEY.
