POLICE COURT. THIS DAY.
Wednesday, September 28.— Before 0. E. KawsoD, Esq., R.M. Breach op By-laws. — John Mynott pleaded guilty to riding round the corner of Devon and Brougham-streets at other than a walking pace, on September 18, and was fined 3s without costs. — James Hendry pleaded guilty to committing a breach of the same by-law at the same time and place. — Defendant said he could not control his horse as his stirrup leather broke.-r-Sergeant Duffin said that he believed it waß so. — Defendant wub let off with a caution. — D. P. H. Laurel, who did not appear, was charged with orossiug the -railway crossing faster than a walking pace.— Constable;''- Roche ' proved the offence, and defendant was fined ss, without costs. — J. Philip's pleaded guilty to 'committing a breach of the same by-law, but in extenuation pleaded ignorance, on account of being almost a stranger to the town. He was fined 3s, without coßts. The Court rose.
