LAND BOARD. THIS DAY.

The Land Board met on Monday. Present; The Commissioner of Crown Lands (in the chair), and Messrs, Livingstone, Syme, Standish, and Kelly.

Land Sales. — The following were the land transactions : — Cash: T. JTrethey, see. 1, block 11, Kaupokonui, upset £5 ; J. W. Mills, sec. 60, block 11, Eltham, £7 10s; H. Mills, sec 01, block 11, Eltham,

£7 10s; Jas. Mills, seo. 62, blook 11, Elthatn, £7 10s. Deferred Payment : Q-. E. Butt, section 18, block 2, Huiroa, upset, £1; A. K. Collins, seo. 15, block 2, tluiroa, upset £1; H. C. F. Schrieber, sec. 5, block 14, Waitara, upset £1; T. Cuthbert, seo. 8, block 4, Kaupokonui, upsof£l; 3. Dustow, sec. 2, block 6, Kaupokonui, upset £1; T. L. Stockton, seo. 24, block 7, Kaupokonui, upset £1. Lease : W. Clarke and R. Moffatt, sec. 11, block 15, Ngaire, upset la. Extension of Time. — The following were allowed, on application, sis months' extension of time to pay instalments of rent on deferred payment sections : — F. Drosdowski, fifth instalment on seo. 6, block 3, Egmont; M. Zimmerman, to pay tenth instalment on boo. 50, block 6, Huiroa, and also for seo. 46, whioh he held in partnership; G. Couch, to pay fifth instalment on sec. 7, blook 8, Egmont. All these gave reasons for asking for the allowance.— The Chairman considered that all due notice should be taken of those who applied for the extension of time, as there were so many in default ' who seemed to take no trouble to apply for extension of time.

Capitalization. — E. and J. Kerr, Eltham, were allowed, on application, to capitalise sec. 50, block, 10, Ngaire ; John Gibson, to capitalise seo.tf?, block 10, Kaapokonui ; and W. Buckingham, sec. 97, block 5, Waimate.

Tiansfers .-James McKenna was granted leave to transfer sec. 59, block 4, Waimate, to Millicent Olivia Short ; /M./ M. Donitz, sec. 227, Moa, to F. Crosskey ; J. Northcott, section 32, block 14, Huirou, and seo. 2, block 2, Ngaire, to J. Birkett. Tenders. — C. N. Rowe's tender, at £15 per annum, for lease of land north of the Pukearuhe camp, and T. Bayly's tender for town belt at Pukearuhe were accepted. Refusal. — W. Holdway was refused permission to transfer deferred payment sec. 7, block 7, Ngaire, to W. Stanners until the improvements required by him were effected. In regard to Scott's application to transfer deferred payment sec. 62, block 4, and section 45, block 8, Waimate, to executors of John Short, deceased. — The Board decided that they would not grant the application. Personal Residence. — James Brophy wrote requesting that personal residence might be dispensed with on sco 70, block 11, Eaupokonui. — It was decided that the Board had no-power to comply with the application. Extension of Time for Residence. — John Lawson, on application, was granted two years' extension of time for residence on deferred payment sec 5, block 15, Ngaire. — He applied for four years. Wellington application.— Mr. Travers, solicitor, wrote stating that the transfer of the interests of Patrick Hurley and Daniel Hurley in section 620, Patea district, to Daniel Hurley, Timothy Hurley, and Jeremiah Hurley, was a fraud on the United Importers' Company of Wellington, as Patrick Hurley had mortgaged his interest in the section to the Company on August sth, 1886. Legal documents bearing on the case were with the letter. The Board decided "That under the circumstances detailed in Mr. Travers' letters and enclosures, the Board declines to complete the transfer of the section alluded to, as by Mr. Travers' letter the Board would be aiding a fraud by so doing ; and that the transfer fee be returned to the applicant."

Completing Purchase. — Correspondence was read with regard to the application of F. Taylor to completa purchase of bbc. 4, block 13, Kaupokonui. — The Board decided that they were satisfied that all conditions of improvements had been carried oat.
