Mr. Fisher, member for Wellington South, addressed his constituents, and spoke in opposition to ' the Government. A vots of thanks and oonfi : dence was passed. MR. OF.MOND SPEAKS. Napier, April 6Mr. Oroiond addressed his constituents last night at Napier. He said he had heard the Government intended asking for 12 months' supply this session. He would strenuously oppose ifc r aa oaly necessary measures should be brought in, and the large questions left to the new Parliament. JHe would accept population as $he main, but not the only basis of representation. He admitted that the present Land Act was a liberal measure. He would not support Protection for protection's sake. A vote of thanks and confidence was passed.
