Comui'inicatiun, however, wns had by means of the tender. The cargo which ia offering for Sydney beiug principally live Block, and consequently difficult o£ loaJing by lighter, it was decided thut tho Wnlcutipu should wait at tho anchoragu uutil to-morrow, in the hope that the wiather will moderate. It should be explained that the wind being south-east would "nip " a vessel against the wall if she came in, aud evtn if the breakwater were perfectly straight would cause her to graze all tha way going out. In addition to this, tho existence ot: the curve at the end makes tho operation of steaming away in a south-oust wiad even more difficult, iv fuct quite out of the question.
