THE TIMARU SCANDAL.

MEETING OF HALL AND MEASON'S

CREDITORS. A meeting o£ persons interested in the affairs of Messrs. Hall and Meason was, helel on September 4tb, at which about 20' attended. Mr. M. J. Godby was voted to, tho chair.

After some discussion, it was resolved — " That application be immediately made to j the Supreme Court (Mr. Meaton consent-j mi?) dissolving the partnership, and appointing Messrs. Sims and Gracie asj liquidators of the partnership estate,! Messrs Godby and Hamersley to act asj solicitors therein. Moreover, that in the, meantime Mr. Sims continue the Tnvestiga-J tion of the accounts, with Mr. Wilson's j assistance, by interviewing Mr. Hall and ! ascertaining the true position of' the! accounts. Should tho application .forj dissolution be opposed, the solicitors toi have power to proceed on dishonored bill, held by Gracie, Maclean, and Adam, with: n view to making tho firm bankrupt if said '; solicitors deem such step advisable."

Resolved— 4l That Mr. Godby and the! liquidatois,, Messrs. Sims and Gracie, be! empowed to band over any deeds orj documents to parties who they are: satisfied aro' clearly entitled to possession: of saiue ; tbat Mr. Sims keep the key of ( safo ; that any expenses incurred by or on j bf half of the creditors in endeavouring- to 1 recover the sheep, be puid out of the estate ; and also that Mr. Sims' account be 1 puil ou! of tbe estate ; and also that Mr. I Sin s" nocount be paui out of the funds in! bund, umJ that tho clerk's salary be paid ; thut the thanks of the creditors be forwarded to Mr. Meason for the valuable' assistance he has given them with regard ;, to the affairs of the firm ; and that this i meeting sympathises with him ia the, position he has been placed in".
