' One of the draught horses belonging to f the Taranaki Harbour Board has come by i its death in a very simple manner. In the I paddock in which it grazed waß a quantity of hay belonging to Mr. Bayly. The horse got to the fodder, much to the annoyance of someone who thought he would act in Mr. Bayly's interest by chasing the horse about as a punishment. After a little of this chevjing the animal fell dead. There was nothing the matter with the animal, and the event would show that heavy horses cannot stand much running about.
