LARGE FIRE IN WELLINGTON .
INSURANCES, £6,070.
[PKU PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, October 7. — A fire broke out at the Gear Meat Company's works at Petono at 3 a.m. The boiling down-shed, engine-shed, bone-shed, and part of the pig-styes were completely destroyed. It is supposed to be the work of an incendiary. The total insurance on their property is £6,070. The following are the insurances on the buildings, plant, &c, destroyed : — Victoria, £335 ; South British, £800 ; Colonial, £1,200 (about £800 reinsured) ; National, £975.
