ANGLO-RUSSIAN DIFFICULTY.
« LORD DUFFEUIN ON AFFAIRS IN AFGHANISTAN. (beuter's copybight telegrams.) BcMß\y, April 15. — Earl Dufferin, Viceroy, who* is now returning from Kawul Pindi to Calcutta, was to-day presented at Lahore with an address from tho local Municipal Board. In replying to the same Ilis Excellency took occasion to say that tho dominions o£ the Amur of Afghanistan had been the scene or an unprovoked attack on tho part of tho Russian forces, and he rejoiced to tind that the Princes and people of Indii wero rallying to tho British standard. It was impossible, His Excellency added, to foresee tho end of tho present crisis, but iE war resulted it would bo in despite o£ the efforts oE moderation on the part o£ England.
