RAILWAY ACCIDENT. • Seven trucks on the Waikato line ran off the rails and seriously damaged the passenger carriages. No one was injured. The cause of the accident is not known. ■ PIEE IN AUCKLAND. A fire broke out at 2 o'clock this morning in Wall's draper's shop, in Queen-street. Tlio Fire Brigade were promptly on the ground, and extinguished it, but great damage was done to the stock. The shop forms part of a block, and is insured for £1000 in the Standard. Wall's stock was insured for £3000. The police consider the circumstances of the fire suspicious, and are making enquiries. SEVEHE HUMUCANE AT TONGA. The schooner Golden Ide, which arrived last night from Tonga, brings news of a severe hurricane which swept over the island on the 7th February, lasting till the 10th. It did considerable damage to houses and plantations ; trees were uprooted, but, fortunately', no. lives were lost. When the first indications of the hurricaue were felt, every preparation was made to meet the full force of the storm, so tuat the damage was not so great as it r tnight have been.
