[per press association.] October 6.— The West Coast Settlement Reserves leases — 97 sections, comprising 13,500 acres, were offered at the upsets, ranging from Is. to 7s. per aero per annum. 104 tenders were lodged for 42 sections comprising 43,000 acres at rents ranging from Is. Gd. to 12s. per acre. The competition was high for continuous reserve seotions, and 3135 acres were taken up. In Opunake South Block 1165 acre 3 were taken up.
