RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

Tuesday, October 2. — Before C. E. lUwson, Esq., R.M. Judgment for Plaintiff. — A. C. Fookes v. Clnis. Fred. McLean, £23. Adjourned Case. — A. Parkinson v. John Cosgrave; adjourned to the 9th October. Judgment Summons. — Standish and Hughes v. Walker. This was a judgment debt of £15 Is. 2d. The defendant did not appear. R. C. Hughes stated that the defendant had sufficient means to pay the debt since judgment had been obtained. Subsequent to the 30th May tho defendant had sold some land, for which he obtained £700, but he had neglected to settle the claim. He was ttie first client that the linn of Standish and Hughes had, and he had never paid a single penny for costs and money advanced. The defendant was ordered to pay the amount on or before the 2nd November next, or to be imprisoned for 21 days'.
