TITLES to LAND NEW PLYMOUTH.
TO TIIE EDITOR.
Sin, — I am at n loss to imagine why Mr. Samuel should have taken the troublo to <ro to n meeting of the Borough Council and terrify the worthy Councillors about their titles, and I nm rather surprised that his remarks should have had the prominence which you gave them last night. When Mr. S. talks about titles, he must speak principally of those of his own clients, unless he has been amusing himself in examining the titles of other people. It is, therefore, surprising that a gentleman, who is such a stickler for " duty to one's client," should be found making such public and gratuitous revelations. Tf Mr. S.s remarks are well founded, the publication of them can only excite alarm among those affected, and damage to the community in the estimation of outside capitalists; while, if his object be to remedy the evil, he might as well make his complaint to any other local body who meet to collect and spend rates. — I am, &c, Caution.
